DHEC identifies more than 1,800 contact tracers
The agency said it has increased its contact tracer staff members from 20 to 400 and retained another 1,400 through private staffing agencies. Contact tracers gather information from people who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
COVID-19 testing available in several S.C. counties
A mobile testing clinic will be held in Richland County on Wednesday at Forest Heights Elementary School. Clinics are also scheduled in Charleston, Clarendon, Florence, Lee and Saluda counties.

Richland County residents can apply for and pay for marriage licenses online after a new measure was adopted by the county this week in response to COVID-19 health concerns. Marriage licenses will be mailed.
New site at USC to collect plasma donations
The site, a collaboration with The Blood Connection, is the first stationary donation site for convalescent plasma in the Midlands. Convalescent plasma contains antibodies which may help patients fight COVID-19.
University of South Carolina to resume classes in the fall
In-person instruction will resume on USC's Columbia campus in mid-August. The university said it will implement a plan that will include COVID-19 testing for all students, faculty and staff, as well as social distancing.
COVID-19 testing in S.C. nursing homes to begin next week
The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control will begin the first phase of testing in the state's 194 nursing homes on Monday. Facilities have been notified of the testing, which DHEC expects to complete by the end of May.

Three days of COVID-19 testing to begin Wednesday
Richland County residents can be tested Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Rice Creek Elementary School on Hardscrabble Road. The school is located in one of two zip codes with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
Drive-thru COVID-19 testing set for Darlington County
A free mobile testing clinic will be available at St. David's Academy in Society Hill on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Prescreening is not required, and results will be available within 48 to 72 hours, DHEC said.

The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control cross-analyzed deaths reported to the agency by medical professionals with deaths reported on death certificates. The additional deaths bring S.C.'s total to 232 as of April 29.
