S.C. State Fair returning with focus on safety
The S.C. State Fair will return Oct. 13-24 with 70 rides, 90 food stands and an emphasis on safety. Organizers said CDC recommendations and local guidelines will be followed at the 12-day event. Discounted tickets go on sale Sept 8.
Beautification project to add lighting, landscaping in Vista
The project, which will also add sidewalks and outdoor seating between Gervais and Senate streets, is expected to be completed this fall. Area restaurants are open during construction.

Hospitality industry job fair to be held Aug. 17
The job fair is free to job seekers and will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Available positions will range from managerial to entry level.
Restaurant Revitalization Program closes after paying out $28.6 billion
The federal program closed Friday after approving 101,000 applications from restaurants, bars and other hospitality businesses since becoming law in March. The average size of grants was $283,000.
