Columbia Fireflies will not take the field in 2020
Minor League Baseball announced today that Major League Baseball will not provide players to affiliated teams. The Fireflies' home opener was originally set for April 9 before the MiLB season was delayed on March 12.
Throwback shirt marks 100th anniversary of Negro Leagues
The Columbia Fireflies are offering a shirt designed in the style of the Newark Eagles jersey the baseball team would have worn during Negro League Celebration weekend June 13-14. Camden native Larry Doby played for the Eagles.
