Greenville, Richland counties each see more than 200 initial unemployment claims
Statewide, initial unemployment claims fell by 233 from the previous week. A total of 1,315 claims were filed in South Carolina for the week ending Aug. 28, according to S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce data.
S.C. initial unemployment claims rise by 112 in week
For the week of Aug. 15-21, Greenville County saw a state-high 152 first-time claims filed, while Richland County had 140. Nationally, initial claims climbed by 4,000 from the previous week to 353,000.
