The South Carolina Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics is now accepting applications for its residential and virtual pragmas. Applications are available online.

The school, located in Hartsville, is a two-year, public high school for juniors and seniors dedicated to the advanced study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Applicants should be current S.C. residents and high school sophomores with credits including Geometry, Algebra I and II, English I and II, a social studies course and a lab science course.

GSSM offers two virtual engineering programs in addition to the residential school in partnership with school districts. Most classes allow students to earn college credit through dual enrollment. Applications for these programs should be current S.C. residents enrolled in ninth grade in one of the participating partner districts.

The application deadline for both residential and virtual programs is Feb. 15 at 5 p.m.
