Here’s what will replace the former Aiken Furniture Co.

Broad River Retail, one of the largest and fastest-growing independently owned and operated Ashley Store licensees, is developing a new Ashley Store is in Aiken.

Next to Target in the Aiken Exchange Plaza, the new Ashley will occupy the former Aiken Furniture Co. according to the release. The 25,230-square-foot showroom will showcase Ashley’s latest 7.0 store concept. The showroom is curated to provide shoppers with the newest products, the release stated. The 7.0 store design features a contemporary open floor plan, an expanded sleep gallery, and stylish interior design elements.

“Bringing Ashley to the flourishing Aiken community is a testament to Broad River’s commitment to growth and connecting with our valued customers,” said Charlie Malouf, Broad River Retail president and CEO, in the release. “This expansion is a thrilling prospect for Broad River Retail. We look forward to unveiling Ashley’s first store in Aiken, where style meets innovation. The state-of-the-art showroom sets the stage for a fresh and modern shopping experience.”

The Aiken Ashley represents Broad River Retail’s fifth 7.0 store concept, according to the release.

“Broad River is excited to bring the number one-selling furniture store brand closer to many customers from this area,” said Manny Rodrigues, Broad River Retail chief operating officer, in the release. “The robust retail experience in Aiken provides us with a remarkable opportunity to offer a wide variety of home furnishings and sleep products to this market at exceptional values as well as providing the best customer service in the industry. We look forward to becoming an integral part of this welcoming community for years to come.”

Headquartered in Fort Mill, Broad River Retail owns and operates seven Ashley stores and outlets in South Carolina and an Ashley store and outlet in Augusta, Georgia, the release stated. BRR also operates distribution centers in Fort Mill and Spartanburg, South Carolina.

“The Aiken community can expect an enhanced customer experience with fast deliveries directly from our Fort Mill distribution center, which boasts a well-stocked inventory of our best sellers and core products,” said Malouf in the release.

Broad River Retail will employ 12 employees at the store.
