Lexington County farms and artisans will be on display during the South Carolina Ag + Art Tour, an exploration of state farms and farmers markets.

Eleven S.C. counties are taking part in the tour, which begins May 30-31 in Colleton County. Lexington will take its turn in the spotlight on June 13-14.

The tour is free and will take visitors to food sources while also exposing them to local craftsmen and musicians. The Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism office, supporting the tour in Lexington County, has formed a committee to recruit participants.

“Our regional tourism office is excited to help with the Lexington County Ag + Arts event,” Miriam Atria, president and CEO of Capital City/Lake Murray Country, said in a news release. “We know that visitors are drawn to a unique experience, and agri-tourism is a growing market in the tourism industry.”

The tour will also make stops in Kershaw, Newberry, Richland and east York counties from June 6-7; in Chester, Chesterfield and west York counties from June 13-14; in Fairfield and Lancaster counties from June 20-21; and in Union County from June 27-28.
