Commercial office space in Columbia’s North Main District has been leased to a behavior analysis practice.

Colliers South Carolina’s Mary Winter Teaster represented Cason Development Group in the lease of a 3,000-square-foot office space at 2144 Sumter St. to The Behavior Co., according to a news release.

The property is located in Cottontown, a revitalized commercial and residential neighborhood within the North Main (NOMA) District. This area features trendy retail shops, coffee shops, restaurants and modern office spaces steps away from the established neighborhood, the release stated.

The property was previously occupied and fully redeveloped by Cason Development Group. The space features modern finishes, including an open barrel-style ceiling with exposed ductwork, rolling glass doors to create oversized meeting spaces and a private outdoor patio/greenspace, the release stated.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Behavior Co. provides effective Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy for children with autism, according to the release. ABA therapy utilizes research-based methods tailored to each child’s needs, with a focus on fostering positive behaviors in a one-on-one setting. The Behavior Co. is the highest-rated ABA Provider in the Midlands and among the best-rated in South Carolina, the release stated.

“We searched for a year and a half to find the perfect location for our patients and their families,” said Alexandra Newcomb, co-founder of Behavior Co., in the release. “After a quick call to Mary, she delivered exactly what we needed. Our experience with Mary was incredible, and we are grateful we found her.”

“After a lengthy conversation with Alexandra about their detailed needs, I immediately thought about 2144 Sumter Street,” said Teaster in the release. “It gives me great purpose to find work homes for those who bring critical services to our community and make a meaningful impact in others’ lives.”
