Beginning Saturday, June 8, American Airlines will restart its seasonal nonstop service from the Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) to Miami International Airport (MIA).

“We are excited to once again be able to offer travelers across the Midlands region a nonstop flight option to the beautiful beaches of Miami, or a short stop on their way to international destinations like Barbados, Costa Rica, or St. Lucia,” said Kim J. Crafton, vice president of marketing and air service development, in a news release. “This specific summer route has performed well for our market and the fact that American Airlines continues to bring it back year after year speaks to the popularity of the route.”

The flight is currently set to depart from CAE on Saturday, June 8 and run through Aug. 10 — with flights only operating on Saturdays only. The flight schedule is slated for:

  • CAE – MIA at 7:30-9:20 a.m.
  • MIA – CAE at 9-11 p.m.

“American Airlines deciding to restart this service for our market is great news,” said Mike Gula, CAE’s president & CEO, in the release. “While still only a seasonal right now, we hope the community continues to choose this flight and show American Airlines this service is needed at our airport year-round.”
