SCANA reports drop in earnings in second quarter
SCANA earnings fell from $121M in the second quarter of 2017 to $8M in the second quarter of 2018. The company's stock rose Thursday after a federal judge denied motions to dismiss subsidiary SCE&G's lawsuit challenging rate reductions.

The utility's parent company, SCANA Corp. said the $22.6 million, or 5.29%, overall decrease to its retail natural gas base rates would save residential natural gas customers around $4.09 per month if approved.
