The Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center has awarded First Community Bank Chief Executive Officer Mike Crapps with the Mike Till Impact Award at its annual luncheon held in August.

The recognition is in memory of Mike Till, a past chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, who was a beloved leader in the business community. The award is presented to an individual who best represents the characteristics of Mike Till – friendliness, perseverance and dedication to the Lexington community.

“Mike Crapps is a cherished leader in the Lexington business community,” said Angelle LaBorde, President and CEO of the Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center. “Through his active involvement in community organizations and dedication to the betterment of others, he exemplifies the very essence of the Mike Till Impact Award.”

Crapps is a co-founder of First Community Bank and has served as its chief executive officer, as well as on its board of directors, since opening the bank in 1995. Under his leadership, the bank has grown to be the fifth largest bank in South Carolina and the largest headquartered in the Midlands. First Community Bank’s focus has always been on serving local businesses, organizations and professional practices.

Crapps has served in a variety of leadership roles, including on the boards of the S.C. Bankers Association, Saluda Shoals Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Virginia. He currently serves on the Clemson University IPTAY Board of Directors, Midlands Business Leadership Group Executive Committee and the Business Development Corporation Executive Committee.
