A fitness company that uses science-led techniques to help clients achieve fitness goals will be the newest tenant at Columbia’s BullStreet District.

Pvolve will open its first South Carolina studio in May in retail space on the ground floor of the luxury apartment complex Bennet at BullStreet.

The studio will provide a premium fitness experience that combines the company’s signature low-impact programs with credentialed trainers, according to a news release.

Pvolve Columbia is owned and operated by Ashley Lamb, a native of Lexington and graduate of the University of South Carolina.

“I started streaming Pvolve classes online over five years ago, and was instantly hooked,” Lamb said in the release. “I have always been an active person but had never worked out in a way that didn’t hurt my body until I found Pvolve. The science-led training method was a game-changer for me. I’m very passionate about Pvolve and over the years have told so many people about it so they could experience it for themselves. When Pvolve offered franchising, I knew it was something I wanted to bring to Columbia and introduce to our community.”

A recent Healthy Aging Study by researchers at the University of Exeter, a school with a reputation for sports medicine and science, found that Pvolve’s functional fitness method measurably improves strength, balance and flexibility in women over 40.

“We’re excited to have South Carolina’s first Pvolve coming to the BullStreet District,” said Robert Hughes, president and CEO of Hughes Development Corporation. “The young company’s history is built on an entrepreneur with an idea on how to make life better for people of all ages, which is exactly the vision for BullStreet.”

Pvolve Columbia offers membership options that fit a variety of fitness needs, schedules and spending levels. The three tiers of membership include Unlimited, Starter and Flex.

Those who sign up for a founding membership prior to the grand opening will lock in a lifetime discounted rate. Founding members receive additional benefits, including access to on-demand and live virtual classes at Pvolve.com and on the company’s app, access to VIP exclusive studio events and more.

“The opening of our Columbia studio is a tremendous moment for our brand,” said Pvolve’s president Julie Cartwright. “We know there is strong demand for our signature Pvolve Method within the community and are thrilled to provide an in-person experience.”
