Central Electric Power Cooperative Inc. has hired Marcus Harris as its new senior vice president of planning and power supply.

With an extensive background in the electric power industry, Harris is well-positioned to enhance the ongoing growth and success of Central, a news release stated. Central’s member-cooperatives serve more than 940,000 electric meters across 79,000 miles of power lines covering 70% of the state’s landmass.

Bringing a distinguished career in the electric utility sector, Harris has previously served as the CEO of Old Dominion Electric Cooperative and Kansas Electric Power Cooperative, according to the release. His proven track record in executive leadership and management reflects his unwavering commitment to advancing the energy industry.

"We are thrilled to welcome Marcus Harris to our team as the new Senior Vice President of Planning and Power Supply," said Rob Hochstetler, president and CEO of Central, in the release. "His exceptional leadership, industry knowledge, and commitment to innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to provide safe, reliable, and affordable energy for our members and communities."

Central Electric Power Cooperative Inc. is a not-for-profit electric generation and transmission cooperative headquartered in Columbia. Central was founded in 1948 by the state’s 20 electric distribution cooperatives.
