TD Bank names market manager for Midlands region

Listen to this articleTD Bank has promoted Jay Johnson to retail market manager of the Midlands market.
In this role, Johnson will help build the company’s customer-focused culture and oversee operations in 17 store locations, which cover six Midlands counties: Aiken, Kershaw, Lexington, Newberry, Richland and York, a TD Bank news release stated. This includes managing a team of retail bankers responsible for expanding TD Bank’s market share by extending the bank’s service to its customers and the community.
“Jay brings strong retail experience and regional knowledge to this position, and we are confident his leadership will help TD Bank continue to expand our market share in South Carolina,” said Linda McGuigan, retail market president for TD Bank in the Mid-South, in the release. “We look forward to his continued success in this new role.”
Johnson has more than 20 years of industry experience with a focus on retail and commercial loan operations, collections and retail banking, according to the release. He previously served as a retail store manager and regional team lead supporting TD Bank’s Mid-South region. Johnson began his career with TD Bank in 2011 when The South Financial Group was acquired by TD Bank, and he was honored as a TD Bank CEO WOW! Leadership Award winner in 2015 and 2017.
Recognized for his inclusive leadership style, Johnson works with the Carolinas Individuals with Diverse Abilities employee resource group and serves as a mentor for Women in Leadership at TD Bank, the release stated.
“I am excited to take this next step in my career with TD Bank and lead our talented Midlands consumer banking team as we work together to continue the bank’s growth,” said Johnson in the release.
