Kershaw County businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for a grant of up to $7,500.
The Kershaw County Council approved the Kershaw County Small Business Stabilization grant program at a meeting earlier this week. Applications, only available online at www.kershawcountychamber.org, open Friday.
Eligible businesses must be for-profit, privately held and located within Kershaw County corporate limits. Additionally, businesses must have been in operation for at least a year as of April 1, 2020, and have 20 or fewer employees, not including family members.
Priority will be given to qualified businesses still in operation; qualified businesses designated nonessential which have had to close; qualified businesses with revenue decreases of at least 20%; and qualified businesses whose owners can demonstrate a lack of capital resulting from COVID-19, according to a news release.
