Open Streets coming to Devine on Sunday

Listen to this articleThe city of Columbia Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee will hold its second annual Open Streets event Sunday on Devine Street from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The regional initiative, which also takes places in cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville and Myrtle Beach, temporarily closes streets to automobile traffic so they may be used for walking, bicycling and socializing.
The event will feature family-friendly activities, and people are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool or ride the city’s public transportation system, the Comet.
