S.C. hip-hop artist FatRat Da Czar will host the 2020 St. Pat’s festival in Five Points.
The annual festival is scheduled for March 21. Czar will be the master of ceremonies from a central stage near the Five Points Fountain, according to a news release from the Five Points Association.
The association also announced a lineup featuring more than 20 bands who will be performing across five stages for the 38th annual street party. Band of Horses is headlining the event.
FatRat Da Czar is a Columbia recording artist, producer, entrepreneur and hip-hop activist. He has opened for Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg and Lauryn Hill. He is a co-founder of World Famous Hip-Hop Family Day in Columbia.
"Obviously, St. Pat's is known for a great time, but we also want to bring a little of the hip-hop family day vibe so families with kids can come out and enjoy the day,” Czar said in the release.
St. Pat’s in Five Points draws early 40,000 people to the commercial corridor, according to the Five Points Association. Organizers say the event has a $6 million economic impact on the city of Columbia. Net proceeds from the event fund beautification projects, events and marketing, with annual charitable donations averaging $40,000.
