Two-time Grammy-winning artist Arrested Development will headline Columbia’s 2020 Famously Hot New Year.
The hip-hop and funk group will perform a free virtual concert online at https://www.famouslyhotnewyear.com/ on New Year’s Eve, according to a news release.
Famously Hot New Year, in its 10th year, is a virtual event for 2020, with donations to Harvest Hope Food Bank encouraged.
The 2020 edition will also feature a performance from Sister Hazel and a special appearance by Hootie & the Blowfish, along with toasts from celebrities with Palmetto State roots.
“Even though one of South Carolina’s favorite traditions may look a little different this year, we’re
excited to support our neighbors and celebrate 10 years of bringing communities together,” Ben Glenn, Famously Hot New Year board member, said in the release. “This year’s virtual event will honor a decade of influential talent and local artists while toasting to the year ahead.”
Past event headliners have included Salt-N-Pepa, En Vogue, Elle King and Trombone Shorty.
Famously Hot party packs, which include a reusable tote bag, neck gaiter, koozie, two party horns, two champagne poppers and two temporary tattoos, are available at locations across Columbia. Printable party favors and special offers from Richland County businesses are available online, along with a list of drop-off locations for Harvest Hope holiday donations.
The party will be streamlined online and on WLTX-TV from 10:30 p.m. until 12:15 a.m. on New Year’s Eve.
