Carolina Metal Finishing is investing $1 million in an expansion of its existing operations in Lee County expected to nearly double the plant’s workforce.

An affiliate of New Jersey-based Paramount Metal Finishing, Carolina Metal Finishing supplies contract services for metal parts cleaning, assembly, industrial painting and powder coating. The Lee County facility, located at 547 S. Main St. in Bishopville and in operation since 2006, currently employs 24 workers.

The expansion, which will add 12,000 square feet and allow for increased production, is projected to create 20 jobs.

“Carolina Metal Finishing is very excited to be expanding our manufacturing facility in the Bishopville, S.C. area,” said company president Michael Fuschetti in a news release. “We appreciate the support from local and state agencies to get our facility operational as soon as possible. We look forward to expanding our operations and to having continued growth in the future.”

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $50,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to assist with site preparation and building construction costs.
