A pharmacy packaging company is locating a $2.9 million manufacturing facility and distribution center in Fairfield County.

Elyria, Ohio-based Pharmacy-Lite Packaging expects to create 33 jobs at the facility on U.S. Highway 321 South near Winnsboro, according to a news release from Gov. Henry McMaster’s office. Fairfield County received a $150,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to pay for property improvements.

Pharmacy-Lite Packaging is a division of Pacific Management Holdings LLC and manufactures streamlined vial systems for prescription drugs. The company developed packaging that has fewer bar codes and includes child-resistant, reversible and easy-open twist caps for dry and liquid vials.

Hiring is expected to begin in the spring of 2020.

“Pharmacy-Lite is happy to have found both a community and facility that we believe will support our continued growth in the production and nationwide distribution of prescription packaging products,” V. Jack Brennan, Pharmacy-Lite Packaging president, said in the release. “Our team first visited Winnsboro in July and found the people to be friendly, welcoming and outgoing. I would like to express gratitude to the business development people at the state, county and city levels for all their help.”
