The Ronald McDonald House at 2901 Colonial Drive in Columbia will host a Spring Fling event March 29 as a community-wide repair and upkeep effort for the house.

The event, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will include about 100 volunteers working in shifts on the house, which for more than 36 years has served as “a place for families to be together during their time of need in the hospital. These are families of children with cancer, families of newborn babies, families of children who have been in a traumatic accident — all families fighting for their child’s life,” according to a news release from the charity.

A family which recently stayed at the house will speak about its experience around lunchtime.

All volunteers will be provided breakfast and lunch.
