Zaxby’s restaurant will celebrate the opening of a new drive-thru in Blythewood with a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. on Monday.

The drive-thru at 221 Blythewood Road will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday. A dining will room open later, pursuant to state and federal health guidelines, according to a news release.

The Blythewood Zaxby’s is the 20th owned and operated by brothers Jim and Britt Poston, who have been franchise licensees since 1997.

Monday’s ribbon cutting, to be attended by Mayor Bryan Franklin, will follow social distancing guidelines.

“Blythewood is a strong, growing community filled with super folks,” Jim Poston said in the release. “We are excited to be opening our seventh Zaxby’s restaurant in the area and look forward to supporting local initiatives. We are proud to be a part of the Zaxby’s brand and invite guests to visit us at the drive-thru and try out our chicken and sauces.”

Founded by childhood friends Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley in 1990, Zaxby’s serves chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches and salads.
