Rockit Pest has acquired Columbia-based Home Pest Control, which has provided services throughout South Carolina for nearly 60 years.

Rockit Pest is a portfolio company of Halle Capital, a New York-based growth equity-focused investment firm.

Curtis M. Loftis Jr., serving his third term as state treasurer of South Carolina after being first elected in 2010, joined HPC in 1981. Currently president and majority shareholder of HPC, Loftis will join Rockit Pest’s board of directors, according to a news release.

“I’m excited for Home to join the Rockit Pest family,” said Steven Leidinger, who has been an owner and general manager of HPC for 26 years, said in the release. "Rockit has established itself as a first-class enterprise in the pest control industry with its focus on enhancing both the customer and employee experience. We look forward to working with them to grow our business while continuing to provide quality service to new and existing customers across South Carolina.”

Leidinger will continue to manage the business as president of HPC.

"We are excited to welcome Steve and the HPC team to Rockit Pest,” Patrick Settle, senior vice president and head of business development at Rockit, said. “I have known Steve for many years and have been impressed with the business he and his team have built across South Carolina. His dedication to customer service and employee engagement are key ingredients of the company’s success. HPC is a great strategic fit for Rockit Pest as it helps to extend our presence across the state as we continue our mission to build a top-tier pest control company.”
