Hargray to acquire cable provider’s Alabama assets

Hargray Communications, based on Hilton Head Island, has agreed to acquire the Alabama assets of cable provider USA Communications, which serves Pell City, Ala. and surrounding areas.

The transaction is expected to close early this year.

“On behalf of our almost 600 Hargray colleagues, we are pleased to announce our agreement to acquire the Alabama assets of USA Communications,” Hargray chairman and CEO Michael Gottdenker said in a news release. “We look forward to building upon USA Communications’ recent network investments and will deliver the fastest internet service in town, a very high-quality residential video service and superior communications products and solutions to the businesses in the USA Communications' service territory.”

USA Communications also serves California, Colorado and Nebraska.
