SC Launch Inc., the nonprofit affiliate of S.C. Research Authority, has invested $200,000 in Columbia-based startup Reporting Xpress Inc.

Reporting Xpress, which provides automated reporting solutions for nonprofits and their end-users, became an SCRA member company in 2019. Its cloud-based platform integrates with Blackbaud’s Financial Edge NXT and Raiser’s Edge NXT fundraising software and includes advanced security, report design flexibility and the ability to combine data from multiple systems into a single report.

Users can view, print, download and email reports in any format from mobile devices as well as subscribe to a notification service alerting them to new reports.

“Companies that use technology to solve problems or improve processes are the ones in which we want to invest,” Lee MacIlwinen, SCRA investment manager, said in a news release. “Reporting Xpress developed a cloud-based solution that helps their customers have easier access to information that is typically buried in complex financial and enterprise reporting systems.”

A Blackbaud cloud technology partner, Reporting Xpress was also recently named a technology partner with data visualization software company Tableau.

“SCRA continues to be a supportive partner in our business,” said Joel Weinbach, Reporting Xpress co-founder and CEO. “We’ve honed our product and are proud of what we’ve developed. Having SCRA’s support and a solution that our customers need is why we are on track for even more growth. Our product was designed by CPAs with many years of experience in nonprofit accounting and management, which provides a unique perspective. We know exactly what our customers need and how they need it.”
