W.O. Blackstone Welcomes Scott Rankin as Business Development Manager

W.O. Blackstone & Co., Inc., a full-service commercial mechanical contractor with an established presence in South Carolina, has hired Scott Rankin as Service Sales Manager. Based in the company’s corporate office in Columbia, Rankin will focus on growing Blackstone’s service and maintenance division in the Upstate and Midlands, while simultaneously building and maintaining relationships to support the firm’s core construction business.

Rankin comes to Blackstone with more than 20 years of proven business development and account management experience, including a strong connection to the construction industry. After beginning his professional career in construction equipment sales, Rankin spent the past decade representing several leading ready-mix concrete suppliers in the Midlands.

His knowledge of the construction industry, combined with his expertise in customer relationship management, will help position us for continued success as we strategically expand our business – especially our service and maintenance group,” said Jeff Griffin, President of W.O. A graduate of Winthrop University, Rankin is active in multiple industry organizations including the Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina (MCASC) and Institute of Real Estate Management (REM). He is the founder of “Contractors for Hope,” annual fundraiser for Harvest Hope Food Bank held each fall at Steel Hands Brewery in Columbia. Since the inaugural event in 2020, Contractors for Hope has raised more than $70,000 and collected 10,000 pounds of donations for Harvest Hope Food Bank.
