New program to offer pre-apprenticeship training

The department's summer meal program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides summer meals to children when school is not in season. Organizations can become a program sponsor or a summer meal site.
Richland Library offering mobile self-checkout
Library customers can now scan items for checkout on their phones. The service is available at all 13 library branches. The library said the service aims to adapt to changing customer behavior.
South Carolina State Fair accepting scholarship applications
Applications for 50 $6,000 Ride of Your Life scholarships are due by March 15 and available online. Recipients must attend a state school, maintain a 3.0 GPA and enroll in no less than 30 credit hours per year.

Roslyn Clark Artis has been named a recipient of the Association of American Colleges and Universities-Cengage Inclusion Scholarship, which recognizes leaders for reducing equity gaps and improving inclusion in higher education.

ECPI University's eHospital program allows health care students to remotely practice hands-on skills in six different medical environments, including triage, emergency room and medical lab simulations.
